Veterans’ Stories

We are in the process of collecting stories of those Stratford men and women who have honorably served in our country’s Armed Forces. We will continue to add to this page as we are able to record the accounts of more of our veterans, so please be sure to visit frequently.

If you have information you want to share with us on your service, or about the service of someone in your family or that you know, please visit us between 10 am and 2 pm on Saturdays, 1 to 3 pm on Sundays and Wednesdays, or email us.

You can print out and use this form (feel free to send us a hard copy or email a scan) when providing your story.

Below you will find the stories of our veterans, the stories of our Gold Star Veterans who died in service to our country, recent obituaries of our veterans and our veteran of the month honorees.

Gold Star Veterans

When a family displays a "gold star" in their window, it means that they had lost a service member who was killed in service to the country. The Stratford Veterans' Museum's "Gold Star Room" honors the men and women who died in service to their country.

Veterans Street Banners

Each year the Stratford Veterans Museum honors a select group of veterans with street banners placed around town during the Veterans Day time frame. Here are banners:
